Layered Density Fluid Columns
Your Tool Chest:Tall, narrow transparent glass or plastic cylinderGolden syrup or honeyLiquid dishwashing soap (blue or green)Water dyed with red food colouringCooking oilRubbing alcoholTurkey basterThe Creative Adventure:1. Pour golden syrup straight down the middle of your tall cylinder to make a thick 3cm baseline layer (don't let it touch the sides!).2. Slowly pour an equal amount of liquid dishwashing soap down the glass to form a distinct second layer right on top of the syrup.3. Tilt your cylinder slightly and use a turkey baster to gently drip red-dyed water down the inner wall, floating it over the soap layer.4. Repeat the slow, wall-guided pouring process with your cooking oil to build your fourth incredible science layer.5. Finish your tower by carefully layering rubbing alcohol onto the very top, creating an amazing, unmixing five-tiered liquid density column!
